March was a pretty good reading and watching month.

In March, I read or finished seven books:

The Blue Castle by L.M. Montgomery

Whispering Walls by Mildred Wirt

Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie

Return of the King by J.R.R. Tolkien

Crooked House by Agatha Christie

The Singing Tree by Kate Seredy.

Movies I watched:

Saving Grace

The Crystal Ball

It’s Tough to Be Famous

Libeled Lady

Eternally Yours

Another Thin Man

Her Cardboard Lover

Shows I watched:

The Puzzle Lady

All Creates Great and Small

The Knight of the Seven Kingdoms

Murder, She Wrote

Two’s Company

In April I plan to/hope to read:

Heidi by Johanna Spyri

The Caribbean Mystery by Agatha Christie

Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis

A Damsel in Distress by P.G. Wodehouse

Murder, She Wrote: Aloha Betrayed by Donald Bain

Nancy Drew: Nancy’s Mysterious Letter by Carolyn Keene

I hope to watch:

Bette Davis movies for my Spring of Bette, including Now Voyager and Jezebel.

I’ve already watched It’s Love I’m After, The Working Man, and Another Man’s Poison for the feature.

How was your March, and what do you hope to read or watch in April?

  2. I need to find a good movie to watch, a classic on YouTube or something. We finally went to a movie theater as it was my son’s birthday and he wanted to see Hail Mary, it was actually good. A good story, not any of that craziness or crazy going on (you know) movies aren’t made the same anymore. I didn’t like how they were scanned for purchases at the home store, to pay they scanned their head…but that doesn’t give any story line away to the movie, it just bothered me when I saw it because I don’t like that and anymore it does seem like they slowly try to expose us to images like that so we don’t think it’s so bad when people start chipping themselves. The commercials before the movie was played were creepy though. Using Goth vampire characters to sell Coke, Arby’s and I forget what other brands, but it was creepy…oh yeah…KFC grandpa was doing some weird levitating stuff in the movie theater commercials…so I’m not eating any of that either. But the movie was actually good.

  3. You accomplished a lot. No matter how hard I try, I just can’t get into Lord of the Rings. We tried watching The Puzzle Lady because it looked like it might be good, but we stopped watching – just couldn’t handle the foul language when the “puzzle lady” dropped so many f-bombs. :-(

    1. Oh yes on The Puzzle Lady. I watched it but then toward the end it was a bit too crazy! I don’t think I’ll be continuing it. It lured me in with a cozy feel and then the niece drops the f-bomb and it was downhill from there! The language on shows is out of control anymore. Some of us just don’t want to hear it!

You had a busy month reading and watching! I am finishing up The Wedding People which was, happily, not what I was expecting. I’m still not sure how it’s going to end. We’re down to the last half hour of Bridgerton. Then, I’m not sure what we’re going to watch. We only get about 45 minutes of tv watching in which is a good thing. But, I should say the tv is on almost all day. Mike can’t stand the sound of silence. I prefer the silence, but it’s easy enough to ignore.

  5. March was slow for me in the reading/watching department, instead I crafted more.
April had a quite random start just as I like it, so I’m going to let it surprise me some more. For tomorrow I have planned to begin another book/movie combination, I don’t know either one yet.

My April reading has really taken off; I’ve already read/listened to over a dozen books so far this month! But that does mean I’ve watched very little TV/movie wise.
