  1. It’s amazing, isn’t it, when you sit down and list the movies you’ve watched in a year? I have no idea how many or which ones. I’m afraid to count them! I loved Benny and Joon as well as Death on the Nile (the old and the new ones). I really need to look for the Picture of Dorian Gray as it’s one of my favorite books.

  2. Lisa, I appreciate how extensive your film viewing has been for the past year. There are several which I have viewed. Here are a couple of favorites.

“The Talk of the Town” allows Cary Grant to play off of the humor-filled scenes with Jean Arthur. I have enjoyed several of her films.

“Superman” with Christopher Reeve in the title role takes me back to viewing the film at a small drive-in years ago. The film came out in the late 1970s, and the supporting cast added the finishing touches.

  3. OOOOOOOOOH! So many good movies here!

Prisoner of Zenda is obviously a gem. Both Manchurian Candidate and Gaslight are superb. I like that version of Scarlet Pimpernel a lot too, but my husband finds Sir Percy so grating he runs away screaming whenever I watch it.

I go back and forth loving and disliking Without Reservations. It Happened One Night is a gem. I adore How to Steal a Million and Meet Me in St. Louis. Haven’t seen Yankee Doodle Dandy in too long.

From your longer list, I love The Quiet Man and Charade. Both Bedknobs and Broomsticks and Pirates of Penzance are good fun. Benny and Joon made me a Johnny Depp fan when I was a teen. Topper is… quirky. I love Ball of Fire and The Thin Man.

I love the MCU up through Endgame.

Which version of Death on the Nile did you watch? And which Superman? And which The Mummy?

BTW, I tagged you with an Oddly Specific book tag 🙂 Play if you want to!

    • I watched the one with Peter Ustinov and. as we discussed on Instagram and ironed out, I didn’t like him at first but he grew on me and I ended up really liking the movie and him much better than I thought!

Superman was the 2025 version and The Mummy was the more modern one with Brendon Frasier. I have not seen the original but my husband wants to watch it with me.

I will check out that tag. I was on my way to your blog to look at that post about movies that I wanted to read the other day anyhow.
