Early in Autumn I was concerned we wouldn’t get very many colorful leaves, but this month nature bowled us over with gorgeous colors splashed across the hills.
Sadly, many of those leaves fell off last week and this weekend when we received a ton of wind and a little bit of rain. Now most of our colorful leaves are all over the ground and we know this means that winter is on its way.
I’m not a fan of winter, as I’ve written about in the past, but as The Husband and I sat cuddled under blankets, watching Brokenwood last night, I remembered what I like about winter. I like that there is an excuse not to go anywhere, that we don’t feel pressured to go outside and do something in the evenings, and we can bundle up with a cup of tea or cocoa, a fuzzy blanket, and a good show or book. That part of winter I am looking forward to.
I thought I would share some of our autumn-related photos from September and October today.
What is the weather like where you are?

Looks like you’ve had a gorgeous and fun fall! The wind and rain knocked our lovely leaves off too and we had a dusting of snow this morning.

I’m afraid to look outside and see if we had any snow. It was 34 degrees in the middle of the night and we finally broke down and turned on the heat.

Beautiful!!!!! That tree of gold – I love it. The light under it must be spectacular.
Winter – I love it for all of those reasons. It is the time when we are forced to stop moving so much, to just enjoy life but at a slower pace. Lots of snug and cozy. I also do like playing and tromping about it in snow though. Lol. Only until February, then it can go away.

It’s 39* in Texas this morning (crazy for fall here but an insane winter is predicted as well)!
As I commented on FB, you are an amazing photographer!!! Always makes me want to be there!

Every time I see your fall photos they make me want to move back. Until I remember all those pretty fall colors means it’s getting closer to snowing, haha. Here in Southern California, it’s freezing in the mornings and in the 80s and 90s by the afternoon. Though I like the way the sunlight slants this time of year, making things look kind of golden in the afternoons.
