Massive Tolkien fan here 😀 I’ve been debating a reread … this winter may be a good cozy time for that!

I finally got around to reading Village School by Miss Read this year—I liked it so much. Now I want to read more of her books.
My mom was a huge Mary Stewart fan, and I read all those when I was a girl. I’d like to read some of those books again. I bought The Moon-Spinners when it was on sale a while back…maybe I’ll read that one.

I started J.R.R. Tolkien’s series many, many years ago but just could not get into it. I think the movie only made it worse. I enjoy my books short and sweet. I’m interested in hearing your thoughts on ‘Tis Herself. That should be a good one.

Miss Read!! I enjoyed the new Jan Karon, too. I’ve read all the Miss Read and Mitford books. So soothing and nice-even when there IS trouble in the story. Enjoy!

I have not read any of these. My next read (after I finish these last two Christmas books I’ve started) is a non-fiction book called How to Winter.

So far I prefer the ones by Donald Bain. I tried to read one by Jon Land and I couldn’t get through two pages.

What a nice mix!I know the Tolkien, but none of the others. I have read several Mary Stewart books when I was young (my favorite is her Merlin trilogy), but I don’t remember this one being among it.
