He is risen! He is risen indeed!

On April 4, 2021April 3, 2021 By Lisa R. HowelerIn everyday musings2 Comments

Happy Easter everyone!

Enjoy some Resurrection Sunday music and videos today in place of my usual Sunday Bookends post.

The first one is my favorite Easter Song and it’s called … yes, Easter song.

(Originally sung by Dan Francisco)

About Me

I'm a mom, wife, writer, photographer, and former journalist. I write a little bit about a lot of things. I enjoy old, classic movies (think before 1970), mystery books, and I have an eclectic taste in music. I'm also the author of the Gladwynn Grant Mystery series. Welcome to my blog and feel free to poke around.

This scene from The Hardy Boys show in 1979 (this is after they dropped poor Nancy from the show and title. Sniff! 😢) cracks me up for many reasons but one is when the guy just says, “we’re from the government…” and I just want to say back, “like the local government? State? Federal? Or is this a name for band? Here we are for yet another Murder, She Wrote installment written by Donald Bain.
On this day in 2001 I was working for a small town newspaper and I had a stomach flu. I woke up to turn on the TV to try to take my mind off the rumbling in my stomach. The first plane had just hit the tower and the broadcasters on Good Morning America were talking about it. They, and I, thought a small plane had accidentally the tower.
James Cagney was only 5 foot 5 inches tall, but he commanded the attention and wielded the presence of a giant. When he walks on screen in a movie everyone focuses on him. He has that confident swagger, that “don’t mess me with me” attitude you can’t look away from.
