It’s time for our Sunday morning chat. On Sundays, I ramble about what’s been going on, what the rest of the family and I have been reading and watching, and what I’ve been writing. Some weeks I share what I am listening to.
This week I’m joining up with Kimba at Caffeinated Reviewer, Deb at Readerbuzz, and Kathyrn at The Book Date.

What’s Been Occurring
Can you even believe it is the last day of June? Because I absolutely cannot. June has gone by so fast my head is spinning!
I rambled about my week last week in yesterday’s post where I wrote about swimming and summer and the rain we had all day Saturday
What I/we’ve been Reading

The Women of Wynton’s by Donna Mumma

The Sentence is Death: A Hawthorne & Horowitz Mystery by Anthony Horowitz

The Real James Herriot: A Memoir of My Father by Jim Wight (I have to be honest that this one is a bit boring to me right now so I am not reading it every day)

Return to Gone Away Lake by Elizabeth Enright (a read aloud with Little Miss)

Lord Edgware Dies: A Hercule Poirot Mystery by Agatha Christie

Tracking Tilly by Janice Thompson

The Gardener’s Plot by Deborah J. Benoit

The Clue of the Whistling Bagpipes: A Nancy Drew Mystery by Carolyn Keene
The Husband is reading Making It So: A Memoir by Patrick Stewart (he found it on Libby)

The Boy is listening to Soul Hunter by Aaron Dembski-Bowden
What We watched/are Watching
I am making my way through the old Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys show from the 1970s. Why? Yeah…I have no idea but they aren’t as bad as I thought they’d be. I’m even getting to hear some good tunes from Shaun Cassidy. *wink*
Lovejoy. This old show from the 1990s is scratching an itch and I have no idea why. I guess I’m craving old stuff these days.

I’m curious about the Patrick Stewart book — what does your hubby think of it? Also…WAIT…WHAT? New Kids on the Block has a new song out??? My oldest was absolutely in love with that boy band when she was a kid. I’m wondering if she even knows this. Ha! Thanks for the blog shout-out. I’m in the midst of deep cleaning my house (especially the bedrooms) now that the family weekend celebration is past and everyone has gone back to their own homes and it’s cooler out. Not fun, but necessary.

He’s liking the Patrick Stewart book. He said he is methodically going through his whole life so it’s a bit detailed but so far he likes it. I said that he should get it on Audible and then thought about how if I did I’d probably fall asleep listening to it because his voice is so soothing.
And yes, I had no idea they had a new song either.
I liked New Kids when I was in junior high school.
You’ll have to tell her about the song and see what she thinks. An author I follow just went to one of their concerts and they actually sounded pretty good. They still tour and have NKOTB cruises. Donnie has become the leader of the group in a way and, of course, he was on that show Blue Bloods for years.
I hope you were able to get all of the cleaning done!

I wish my husband was a reader because that book by Sir Patrick Stewart would be all over it! I’m almost finished with some book I’m reading. I like it, but I am terrible about the titles of books I read! We are watching The School of Good and Evil (or something like that). I’m calling it a palate cleanser after all the dark shows we have watched.
Have a fabulous week, Lisa!

You should see if you can get him an audio version of the book. I think it would be so wonderful to listen to Sir Patrick reading his own book. I even went to check for you if it is him reading it and it is! I told my husband, though, that if I listened to it I would probably fall asleep because his voice is so soothing to me.

I just “rented” it on my Libby for him. It’s 19 hours long so I wonder if he’ll listen to it. Thanks for thinking of that!

I really wanted to read MAKE IT SO for my book club’s memoir month in July. Unfortunately, there are too many holds for me to get it and read it before book club. Oh well. I’ll have to read it another time.
Love the pictures of your flowers and it looks like everyone’s having a great time. I’d love to go swimming at some point, but I haven’t had a chance yet.
Have a great week!

I’m reading my first Anthony Horowitz novel (though I think I might have read one of his children’s books for the 1001 Children’s Book list). I am looking forward to the new series based on one of my his mysteries that is coming out in September.
My son is eager to listen to the Patrick Stewart autobiography. I’ve heard that Stewart reads the audiobook himself.

I just looked and listened to a sample of Sir Patrick’s book and yes, he does read it himself!
I enjoyed the Magpie Murders series based on his book. I haven’t heard about the new series. I’ll have to see which one it is.
