|| Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. ||
Today’s prompt is: things Characters Have Said (Maybe a character said something really profound or romantic or hilarious or heartbreaking. You could share witty one-liners, mic-drop moments, snippets of funny dialogue between multiple characters, catchphrases, quotes that have become a part of pop culture–like “May the odds be ever in your favor.”, etc.)
I decided not to pick one theme but instead just share quotes of characters from the various books I’ve read as part of my eclectic reading habits.

My husband often reminisces about when our sons were little and he’d come home from work and they’d run to him. There’s nothing like that again in the world, and the contrast to a parent’s reception when kids are teens is appalling. But such is life.

Yes, those early days are so wonderful. I am lucky that my teenage son still enjoys hugging me and even asks for hugs but there are other days he’s like a pissed off porcupine and it’s hard to know which one I’m going to get each day.

I LOVED The Blue Castle–I read it for the first time a year or two ago. So good. I loved Christy, too. Nice post!

I love all those quotes, but particularly the one about children should be teenagers first. I have often thought that we live our lives back to front. 🤷♀️💖📚

These are great, thanks for sharing! I know I had a quote or two from The Blue Castle, but I am not sure if I wrote them down…I went rogue today.

Oh, it’s a tough one between the one about politicians and the Vera Wong quote! Love these prompts!

I can’t read them as they don’t have alt text so are not screenreader friendly. Furthermore, the majority of my reading is done in Dutch, so the quotes are different in translation and maybe even unrecognizable.

The one from The Answer is No made me tear up. My husband always asks why I still pick up our 8 year old little girl. Well, that’s why. Babies grow up way too fast.

It made me sob. Like full on want to clutch my 18-year old who used to run to me like that when I picked him up from kindergarten and cry and cry into his hippie hair. 😩😩😩

I really should read The Answer Is No sometime.

That’s a good quote from Little Women.

My favorite is the one from “Little Women”.
If I had done this, it would have leaned a lot towards Terry Pratchett, I think.
